TRURO, N.S. – Calem McAndrew’s second-period goal was the winner as the Fundy Thunder edged the ChiroCare Kings 2-1 in recent Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League action.
Noah Harrison gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead in the first period before McAndrew made it 2-zip with 6:02 left in the second. Ethan Dyer got the Kings to within one near the end of the second, however, Thunder goaltender Ashton Cutten closed the door the rest of the way and made 28 saves for the win.
In other recent action, the Thunder dropped a 6-1 decision to the Valley Wildcats. Timothy Porter had the lone Fundy goal in that contest.
The Thunder (6-6-0-0) returns to action on Saturday when they host the Cabot Highlanders (1-12-0-0) for a 7:30 p.m. start at the Colchester Legion Stadium.
