TRURO, N.S. – After a strong run at the East Coast Ice Jam tournament, the Truro Bearcats return to action in the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League with a pair of games this weekend.

The Bearcats host Kings Mutual on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the RECC and hit the road on Sunday to face the Rangers at the East Hants Sportsplex at 11 a.m.

The Bearcats had their run at the Ice Jam tournament come to end on Saturday night after a 4-2 loss to the Northwest New Brunswick Bulls in a quarter-final game.

The Bearcats finished the round-robin portion of the tournament with a 2-1 record and defeated the Cole Harbour Storm 7-3 in a Round of 16 playoff tilt on Saturday morning.

The Moncton Hawks won the major bantam division after a 2-1 win over the Bulls in Sunday’s final.

The Moncton Flyers edged the Kensington Wild 1-0 in overtime in the major midget final, while the Weeks Major Midgets went 1-2 in the round-robin and lost 4-1 to the Wild in the Round of 16. The Nova Scotia Minor Minor Midget AAA Hockey League Selects went 1-2.
