MABOU, N.S. – Alex Angus MacEachern was a member of Team Canada at the Blind Hockey Summit in Pittsburgh last weekend.
The Mabou native had a goal and an assist in the two-game series, which saw the Canadians sweep Team USA 2-0 in the best-of-three series.
Canada defeated the United States 8-2 on Friday, before clinching the series victory with a 12-3 win on Saturday.
The event, held at the UMPC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry, P.A., marked the first time Blind Hockey athletes have had the opportunity to compete in a best-on-best competition, a major stepping stone towards establishing a world championship for blind hockey.
