TRURO, N.S – The Fundy Thunder earned victories over the Cabot Highlanders and Valley Wildcats in recent Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League action.

The Thunder downed the Highlanders 5-3 and doubled the Wildcats 4-2.

With the wins, the Thunder improved their record to 4-2-0-0 and sit tied for third place in the eight-team league.

Against the Highlanders, special teams play was key, as the Thunder scored two power-play goals and a shorthanded marker in the third period to come away with victory.

Sam Rogers struck on the PP with 12:21 remaining in the third, before Calem McAndrew notched a goal with the man-advantage with 4:30 to go. Noah Harrison sealed it with a shortie in the dying seconds. Kyran Burton and Nicolas Gallant had other goals for the Thunder, who outshot the visitors 36-26.    

Brandon White was the winning goaltender.

In the win over the Wildcats, Harrison led the way with two goals, including one on a power play. Burton and Mason Bird had others. Ashton Cutten made 20 stops between the pipes.

The Thunder host the Admirals on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the stadium for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
