Walters, a goaltender for Team Canada, played in the championship game against the United States. He made 23 saves in a 6-3 loss. The U.S. broke open a close game with four goals in the second period.
Canada posted a 4-0 record in the preliminary round and Walters played nets in three of the four games.
He turned aside 29 shots in a 5-2 triumph over the U.S., and made six saves in a 19-0 decision over the Czech Republic. In a 4-1 win over Finland, Walters made 19 stops.
Walters, a 17-year-old student at South Colchester Academy, played midget AA hockey this past season for the Sandy Murdock-coached Truro Bearcats.
Canada won its other game 27-0 over Kazakhstan.
Finland defeated Kazakhstan 12-2 in the bronze-medal game.
