Bearcats rebound from loss to defeat Crushers

TRURO, N.S.

The Truro Bearcats bounced back from a tough loss on Wednesday to down the rival Pictou County Crushers 5-1 on Thursday in Maritime Junior Hockey League action.

With the win, the Bearcats improved thir record to 3-1 on the season. The victory came one night after a 5-0 loss at the hands of the Amherst Ramblers.

Truro visits the Yarmouth Mariners on Saturday.

Gavin Hart struck for a pair of goals for the Bearcats on Thursday before a crowd of almost 800 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre. Lauchie MacDonald, G Blackmore and Carson Lanceleve, on a powerplay, also scored for the visitors.

Evan MacLennan was the lone Pictou County shooter able to solve Bearcats goaltender Alec MacDonald, who made 27 saves. Truro had 38 shots.

The games three stars were: 1. Hart, 2. Alec MacDonald, 3. Lauchie MacDonald.
