TRURO, N.S. – With the exception of their exhibition outing against he Czech Republic, as warm-up for the World Junior A Challenge, the Truro Junior A Bearcats are playing their Maritime Hockey League games on the road through the month of December.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t ample opportunity to see the Bearcats in action – albeit a different kind of action – during the Christmas season.

For the ninth consecutive year, the Bearcats will man the Salvation Army Christmas Kettles at the Walmart and Truro Mall each Tuesday, leading up to Christmas.

Team members have also committed to serving up Christmas dinners at local schools.

During the recent Bearcats-Mariners game, 259 teddy bears hit the ice at the annual teddy-bear toss. Those plush toys will be going to support the local Christmas Index Program.
