In the 2-1 win over Pictou County he assisted on Jack Keough’s goal, then scored the winner in the last minute of the game.
As one of only two 20-year-old forwards on the team, he is expected to provide leadership.
Friday’s effort is clearly leading by example.
He came up through the Dartmouth Lakers program through to two seasons of major bantam with the Dartmouth Ice Dawgs. Next up was a season of high school hockey with Dartmouth high, then two seasons with the Newbridge Academy Gladiators.
In his first midget season he experienced a provincial championship and a trip to the national Telus Cup where he picked up three points in five games.
The 2014 draft pick brought energy to the Bearcat lineup. He came into his own last year as a sophomore, scoring 19 and assisting on 14 others and contributing in a large way in the championship run, picking up six goals and five assists in Truro’s 17 playoff games.
Hustle, tenacity and finish describe his game with the Bearcats.
