TRURO, N.S. – Bearcat of the Week honours go to rookie forward, Caleb Hart.
Caleb picked up two goals in two of last week’s three games. He opened the scoring in a 3-2 OT loss in Summerside, then again in Friday’s 3-2 shootout win at home against Grand Falls.
He, along with all rookie forwards, has benefited from the opportunities which have come their way this season. Not bad for an invite.
Caleb got his hockey start in the Richmond Hill minor program before moving on to the North Toronto Association for his atom play. Following bantam hockey Markam, Ont., the family move to Oakfield, N.S. He suited up last year with the Newbridge Academy U-18 team.
He obviously came to the Bearcats determined to show he belonged. He impressed quickly with his skating and intensity. A low-maintenance player, he has grown his 200-foot game and is being considered reliable off the bench in all situations.
He, Cole Julian and newcomer Logan Camp have been solid each outing.
