A momentum change, at center ice, proved once again that leadership comes in many forms. The Bearcats found their game and unfortunately, for the Mariners, they couldn’t put the Bearcats away when they had them on the ropes.
Saturday, the Bearcats did all the little things from the outset. It was a full three-zone effort.
Teams don’t always play the way they’re asked, or supposed to. When the Bearcats do, they’re tough.
It’s important to take care of business every outing. Standings are so tight, a slip could lead to a major fall.
There are enough head-to-head matchups between the four Eastlink South contenders to make a difference. Attention has to be paid to those other teams whose purpose may be to play the role of spoiler.

The Bearcats and Lumberjacks are evenly split over six games to date. They will continue to play the Bearcats hard, even with their veteran-depleted lineup.
Saturday, the Mirimichi Timberwolves are at the RECC for a 7:00 pm start with the Bearcats. No question, the Timberwolves are the MHL’s best team on paper.
Miramichi has assembled a team to take all the marbles. They’re built for this season, without a rookie in the lineup.
Both games bring their challenges. As always, address them one game at a time.
