Michael Adams’ two field goals were the difference in the Cobequid Cougars’ 8-7 victory over the Sydney Academy Wildcats in NSSAF football league play Sunday afternoon in Truro.

Adams, who’s also the Cougars’ quarterback, booted his field goals from 26 and 23 yards. CEC’s other score came on a safety in the fourth quarter.

Under centre, Adams was 10-for-22 for 121 yards but threw two interceptions. He also had six carries for 34 yards.

On Friday, the C.P. Allen Cheetahs handed the Auburn Drive Eagles their first loss of the season following a 44-0 rout in Cole Harbour.

Running backs James Dowell and Matt West combined for 229 yards and three touchdowns for the Cheetahs, who move into a tie with Quarterback Dylan Patterson was five-for-10 for 71 yards and added two rushing majors.
