Topshee shoots 1-over during third round of provincial amateur

OAKFIELD, N.S. – Truro’s Chris Topshee carded a third-round 1-over-par 73 on Friday at the Nova Scotia Golf Association men’s amateur championship at Oakfield.

Topshee had three birdies and four bogeys and sits in a tie for 23rd heading into Saturday’s final round at the 72-hole championship.

Ashbun’s Myles Creighton shot 2-under on Friday for a 212 total and is four shots ahead of Northumberland’s Bruce Tomie (69-216). Oakfield’s Greg Black (74-217) is third, followed by Ashburn’s David Williamson (72-219) and Ryan Dixon (72-219) of River Hills.

Other local players in the field are Truro’s Robert Watt (79-228), Robert Jeffcock (79-234), Cory Pothier (79-237), Isaac McNaughton (81-241) and Brookfield’s Mike Penny (85-243).
