Coulson, Topshee finish close in national amateur

NEW GLASGOW - A consistent final round left Chris Topshee one shot behind fellow Truro golfer Paul Coulson as they wrapped up the Canadian Men's Mid-Amateur.

Topshee shot a round of 76, to go with previous rounds of 76, 77 and 74 - good for a share of 41st place. Coulson, meanwhile, shot a 78 and continued his slide since shooting a 72 on the first day. He finished up in a tie for 36th spot.

The championship hardware went to Garrett Rank for the second straight year, as the Elmira, Ont., golfer broke 70 for the second time this week on Friday with a 69. Rank wrapped up the tournament at three-under-par, with the next closest competitor at four-over.
