TRURO, N.S. – It was a banner day for the Fundy Highland Wilson’s Home Heating Atom A Cyclones on Sunday, as they captured their first provincial female hockey title.
The Cyclones defeated Metro East Inferno Red 5-0 at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre during the Hockey Nova Scotia Day of Champions.
Brooklyn Bagnell Lauther led the Cyclones with two goals, while Kori Griffon, Hannah Jordan and Ava Taylor added singles. Amy Field posted the shutout.
The Cyclones were also named the Ron Conrad Female Team of the Year by HNS. The team will be honoured at the upcoming Hockey Nova Scotia awards banquet on Saturday, May 4 in Halifax.
