TRURO, N.S. – Truro’s Brett Lauther has been named to the Canadian Football League Players’ Association all-star team.
The 28-year-old placekicker for the Saskatchewan Roughriders had a breakout season in the CFL in 2018, nailing 54 of 60 field goal attempts for an astounding 90 per cent success rate.
Lauther’s longest field goal was from 56 yards, and he racked up 198 points.
Members of the CFLPA’s all-star team were voted on by more than 400 league players.
On Wednesday, Lauther was selected a West Division all-star by the voting members of the Football Reporters of Canada from the West Division markets, the National Chapter and the West Division head coaches.
