CEC football team to start training camp on Aug. 19

The Cobequid Cougars high school football team will hold training camp Monday to Friday leading into the school year, beginning on Aug. 19.

TRURO, N.S. – The Cobequid Cougars high school football team is gearing up for a new season on the gridiron.

The Cougars will hold camp Monday to Friday at 6 p.m., starting on Aug. 19 at James MacPherson Stadium.

“We want everyone to give it a try and see if it’s for them” says Cougars coach Brent MacPhee. “No experience necessary.”

All athletes are required to have are shorts, a T-shirt, sneakers and a water bottle.

The Cougars play in the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Football League. Last season they sported a record of 6-2 in the regular season to finish in second place in the Scotia Conference before a loss to the Sir John A Macdonald Flames in a quarter-final playoff game.
