Firefighters win Bible Hill-Truro mosquito baseball championship

The Bible Hill Firefighters won the mosquito division of the Bible Hill-Truro Minor Baseball Association this season. TRURO, N.S. – The Bible Hill Firefighters are the Bible Hill-Truro Minor Baseball Association mosquito division champions.  
The Firefighters swept Fundy Textiles in two straight games in the best-of-three final series.
After holding on for an 11-10 victory in Game 1, the Firefighters rode air-tight defense and solid pitching to a 6-0 victory in Game 2 to nail down the title.  
Big hitters at the plate for the Firefighters were Ryan McDonald with a double and a single, Mayce McLeod with a double and Gavin Moore with two singles. Alex Gullon led the way for Fundy Textiles with a single.  
Isaiah Skelhorn and Ryan Vohra combined for eight strikeouts over three hitless innings on the mound for the Firefighters, while Curtis Weatherby and Eli Brown tossed two scoreless innings for Fundy Textiles.
