TRURO, N.S. – The Cobequid Cougars have advanced to the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Northumberland region girls rugby final.

The Cougars grounded the Northumberland Nighthawks 17-5 on Tuesday in a semifinal match to punch their ticket to the regional title game on Thursday at North Nova against the Gryphons.

Rachel LeBlanc, Lara Hingley and Olivia Meech scored tries for the Cougars on Tuesday at the Truro Saints Rugby Park in North River.

Josian Gibson added a conversion.
