Cougars fall to Eagles in high school football

TRURO, N.S. – The Auburn Drive Eagles held the Cobequid Cougars scoreless in the second half and rolled to a 56-21 victory on Sunday in the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Football League.

Ryan Power of the Cobequid Cougars gets a handful of jersey to slow down an Auburn Drive Eagles player during NSSAFFL action on Sunday. The Eagles broke open a close game in the second half by scoring 28 unanswered points en route to a 56-21 win.

With the loss, the Cougars fell to 1-2, while the Eagles improved to 3-0. CEC visits C.P. Allen on Friday.

Running back Kamryn Matheson led the Cougars Sunday, racking up 188 yards on 14 carries and three touchdowns.

Defensive backs Riley Gabriel and Andrew Floyd each had an interception, while Dylan Beniot, Connor Richardson and Matheson had four tackles each.

The Eagles led 28-21 at halftime.
