TRURO,N.S. – Brett Lauther will be on hand for a special meet-and-greet this Saturday, put on by the Truro Minor Football Association.

President Mary Shannon of the TMFA says the community is invited to the event to meet the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders’ place kicker at the Best Western Glengarry, 10 a.m. to noon.

There will also be Cobequid Educational Centre football players and coaches on hand with highlights of their history, TMFA will have displays and the TAAC Grounds revitalization project chairman and committee members will be there. It’s hoped many TMFA alumni will also drop by.

This year, the association started reaching out to alumni for names of past players, coaches and staff, to compile team pictures and stories, that will be preserved for years to come. In November, Lauther was guest speaker at the TMFA end-of-season.

Saturday’s event is informal, and people can drop by when they wish from 10 a.m. to noon. Admission is free.
