TRURO, N.S. – Wrestlers from the CEC high school team enjoyed great success at the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Eastern regional championships during the weekend.
Both CEC senior boys and girls teams captured regional titles, as the Cougars qualified 23 athletes for the provincial championship this weekend at Riverside Education Centre.
- girls competition, Viraji Rupasinghe won the -52 kg event, while Courtney Gallagher (-80 kg) and Madison Ferguson (+90 kg) also nabbed top honours.
On the boys side, Hayden Malay (-58 kg), Ian Millican (-85 kg), Tavish Rutherford (-100 kg) and Tristyn Clattenburg (-120 kg) of the Cougars won their respective divisions.
