TRURO, N.S. – The Cobequid Cougars high school football team is gearing up for a new season on the gridiron.
The Cougars will hold camp Monday to Friday at 6 p.m., starting on Aug. 19 at James MacPherson Stadium.
“We want everyone to give it a try and see if it’s for them” says Cougars coach Brent MacPhee. “No experience necessary.”
All athletes are required to have are shorts, a T-shirt, sneakers and a water bottle.
The Cougars play in the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Football League. Last season they sported a record of 6-2 in the regular season to finish in second place in the Scotia Conference before a loss to the Sir John A Macdonald Flames in a quarter-final playoff game.
