Bombers, Freightliners chasing Tier 2 football titles

TRURO, N.S. – Truro teams look to capture Nova Scotia minor football Tier 2 championships this weekend in Halifax.

The Truro Bluebombers meet the Bedford-Sackville Saints in the peewee title game at the Mainland Commons field at 11 a.m.

Truro advanced to the final after a recent 27-7 victory over the Fall River Dragons in a semifinal tilt.

Meanwhile, the Truro Freightliners will face the South Shore Seahawks in the bantam division final, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Mainland Commons.

The Freightliners enter the game after a 25-14 victory over the Cape Breton Panthers last Friday in the annual Chris Davis Cup game. 

In the atom division, the Truro Tide won the Tier 2 crown last Sunday with a 30-16 triumph over the Halifax Argos.
