BIBLE HILL, N.S. – Dal AC cross-country athletes earned top performer nods from the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association last week.
Hannah Arseneault and Kieran Thornell were honoured for success by being named ACAA athletes of the week.
Arseneault has been a dominant force on the women’s team for four years and completed her season in the same manner she has every year – by winning.
Arseneault, from St. Martins. N.B., finished first in all ACAA cross-country races this season with times of 28:14 (CU), 27:12 (MTA ), and 27:09.9 (MSVU). During the final race of the year, she won the ACAA title with a time of 26:45.5.
Thornell had his best race of the year at the ACAA championships. He led for most of the race and finished first in a time of 30:05. over the 8-km course.
In the other ACAA races this season, Thornell placed 4that CU (32:17), first at MTA (31:20.4) and second at MSVU (30:44.9).
In his second year running for DAL AC, Thornell has shown to be a tough competitor, working hard to better his times throughout the season. This year, he knocked off more than two minutes from the first race to the championships!
Kieran came to Dal AC after a successful track career at Stonington High in Connecticut.
