TRURO, N.S. – Gavin Hart and Jack McGovern of the Truro Bearcats will be in the Halifax Mooseheads’ lineup on Aug. 23 for a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League pre-season game in St. Stephen, N.B.
The Mooseheads play the Saint John Sea Dogs in the second half of a home-and-home exhibition series. On Thursday, Halifax defeated Saint John 4-3.
Hart, a forward from Bible Hill, has played the past two seasons with the Bearcats and has played in a handful of games with the Mooseheads as an affiliate player. Last season in Truro, Hart scored 16 goals to go along with 15 assists. He has played in three exhibition games for Halifax this pre-season and has one goal.
McGovern, a defenceman from Dartmouth, has also played the past two seasons for the Bearcats with a few Q-league games to his credit with the Mooseheads. Friday’s game will be his second of the pre-season.
Masstown's Merle Putnam is also at Mooseheads' camp, but isn't scheduled to play in Friday's game.
