G Blackmore is this week’s Bearcat of the Week.
In Truro’s 5-3 loss to the Pictou County Crushers, he was involved in all Bearcat scoring with a brace and an assist
on Caleb Hart’s third-period goal. His shorthand goal was a beauty. He comes into this week with six goals and eight assists, putting him in a tie for points with Karter Renouf and Kyle Sexton.
G got his hockey start in the Truro minor program, working his way to the bantam level when he suited up with the Truro minor bantams. He followed with a year of high school hockey with CEC. Next up was a three-year stint with the Weeks Major Midgets, finishing his third season with 28 goals and 47 assists and being awarded the NSMMHL MVP recognition.
He also experienced eight Moncton Wildcat games and was a leader with the Bearcats in their playoff run, winning the MHL championship and exposure at the Fred Page Cup in Quebec. In the 16 game playoffs, he scored nine and assisted on four others.
The 2016 Bearcat territorial pick then played all of last year with the Moncton Wildcats.
