U-18 Bearcats out to earn spot at nationals

TRURO, N.S. – The Truro Bearcats will be out to earn a berth at the Canadian under-18 AAA baseball championship this weekend.

The Bearcats will compete in the nine-team national elimination tournament in Dartmouth, beginning Friday.

The winner will represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian championship in London, Ont., Aug. 17 to 20.

Truro is in Pool A and will play round-robin games against the Dartmouth Arrows and Cape Breton Reds Friday at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. at Beazley Field.

The Bearcats have enjoyed success this season in the Bluenose League with a record of 9-3.
