The teams were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday at 3 and 6 p.m. at the TAAC Grounds, followed by a game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
But because of wet field conditions, the teams will instead meet Saturday at 7 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Bearcats are in search of their first win of the season after losing their opener last Friday night 4-3 to the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry.
Bearcats playing coach John Chapman said this weekend’s games will allow his club to find a rhythm, which is important during the early stages of the season.
The games will be the first of the season for the Sooners.
“They’re pretty well the same team; scrappy, they never go away, they’re always right there in the hunt,” Chapman said of the Cape Breton club.
Chapman is unsure of his starting rotation for the three-game series, but said: “Everybody’s going to pitch this weekend.”
Following this weekend’s games, the Bearcats visit the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry Thursday, before hosting the Halifax Pelham Canadians Friday for a 7:30 p.m. start at the TAAC Grounds.
