Dr. Colin Howell, a retired history professor at Saint Mary’s University, will
present an illustrated talk that outlines the flourishing of baseball in the Maritimes following the Second World War.
The Bearcats and their prominent role in the H&D league until its demise in 1959 will be explored during the evening.
Dr. Howell will make a power point presentation with a number of visuals and interesting stories that came out of a lifetime of research on baseball in the Maritimes and elsewhere.
The presentation will take place at the Marigold Cultural Centre. A reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the presentation at 7 p.m.
