The Cougars blasted the Hants East Tigers 17-2 and blanked the Hants North Fames 10-0 to earn the right to host the Northumberland region championship tournament Oct. 6 and 7 in Truro.
Watson, a lefty, allowed just two hits against the Tigers, while Briggs, a right-hander, fired a one-hitter at the Flames.
In the win over the Tigers, the Cougars scored seven times in the second inning to put the game out of reach early.
Briggs belted a two-run home run and Michael Jollimore singled and doubled in the contest that was called after three innings due to the 15-run mercy rule.
Connor Angers also doubled to help the cause.
Against the Flames, CEC built a 7-0 lead after two innings in the game that was halted after five because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Angers, Watson and Luke Smith singled and doubled and Briggs and Mackie Marquis each swatted doubles.
With the wins, the Cougars improved their overall record this season to 11-0.
