The Bearcats surrendered five runs in the seventh inning and seven in the eighth and were hammered 16-4 by the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League.
Truro’s next action is July 4 when it visits the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians. The Bearcats next home game is July 11 when they host the Kentville Wildcats.
On Tuesday, the Moosehead Dry pounded out 15 hits off pitchers John Chapman, Dan Bates and Jamie MacLean to improve their record to 7-2 on the season.
Anthony McKinley belted a grand slam for Dartmouth, while Dan Comeau had two singles and three RBI and Jake Sanford singled, doubled and drove in a run.
For the Bearcats, Matt Mingo doubled and drove in a run, while Jeff Chisholm singled and scored.
Winning pitcher Jason Mosher allowed just three hits in the game that was called after eight innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
The Moosehead Dry led 4-3 after six innings before blowing it open in the seventh.
Truro made five errors in the contest.
