Lucas Watson, Dawson Briggs and Connor Irwin combined to scatter just four hits to lead the Bearcats to a 5-2 win over the Kentville Wildcats at the Stadium 1 Diamond on Thursday.
Watson struck out nine batters over four innings to pick up the win, while Briggs fanned four over two innings, before handing the ball to Irwin to close it out.
Zack Betts had a pair of RBI in the contest, while Mackie Marquis added an RBI single. Riley MacInnis doubled and Watson, Luke Smith, Riley Martell and Ryan Rath also singled.
Tyson Slaunwhite of the Wildcats was the losing pitcher.
Watson, of Great Village, has been named to the Nova Scotia under-15 team that will play at the Canadian championship in Vaughn, Ont., in August.
The Bearcats play a road game Tuesday against the Halifax Mets, before returning home for a game on Thursday against the Pictou County Albions, beginning at 6 p.m.
