GRAHAM, Phyllis Beatrice – 79, Upper Stewiacke, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday evening, April 4, 2018, at Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Central North River, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Laura (Roode) McNutt. She was affiliated with Springside United Church and enjoyed country music, flower gardening, knitting and reading. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Karen Graham, Nancy Graham, Truro; Shelley Graham, Brookfield; Angela Graham (Simon Wood), Debert; grandchildren, Rebecca Wood, Lauren Wood, Jarret Retfalvi; sister, Kay (Gerald) Hawkins, Fredericton, New Brunswick; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret (George) Truman, Ivan McNutt, Freeman McNutt, Truman McNutt, Cecilia (George) Kennedy, Leo McNutt, Layton McNutt in infancy. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Colchester East Hants Health Centre, staff of Elk Court, Dr. Trevor Locke, Dr. Karla Armsworthy and Dr. Jacob John for your wonderful care and concern. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Phyllis’ family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. - 2:15 p.m., Sunday, April 8, 2018, followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m., Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke. If so desired, donations in Phyllis’ memory to Colchester East Hants Health Centre or VON of Colchester County are welcomed.
