Mildred Patricia Gurniak

The eldest daughter of Maude Florence Burris and Clarence Stevens passed away June 14th, 2019 in her 87th year at home in Oakville, Ontario. Married for 46 years to Edward Gurniak (d. 2001) Born Nov. 18th,1932 in Truro, Pat moved from the Green Oak/ Old Barns district to the bright lights of Toronto in 1950. Although she was only able to return “home” for visits, her heart never left Nova Scotia, and she maintained close contact with family and friends there. Pat was pre-deceased by her sister Joyce Langenecker (Frank) and is survived by her sister Carole Castonguay (Truro), and brother James Stevens (Linda) (Debert). She leaves behind her daughter, Marjorie Freeman (Brian), and son David Gurniak (Laura Fehr). Grandchildren Keiran Kelly (David), Kevin Freeman, Darwin Gurniak, and Donna Gurniak. And one great-grandson, Eric Kelly. Funeral Service to take place in Toronto, on July 9th, at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, Oakville, Ontario
