Mary "Frances" Dickie
Mary “Frances” Dickie – 93, Onslow, passed away peacefully Friday, February 8, 2019 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late George and Lillian Sarah (Peterson) Audas. In her earlier years, she was employed at Stanfield’s, Truro and later worked on the farm in Onslow. She was an avid fan of harness racing and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Yuill, Mary “Ginger” (Gerry) MacCallum; son, Anthony “Tony” (Yolanda) Gillis; grandchildren, Brian (Bev), Krista (Shane), Holly (Matt), Mark; great grandchildren, Cole, Lane, Sage, Regan, Mason, Lia, Clara, James. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Dickie; brother, George Audas. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of MacLeod House in Hilden as well as Vimy Court in Bible Hill and finally the staff of Colchester East Hants Health Centre for their care and support. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A Graveside Service will be held in the spring in Onslow Island Cemetery. Donations in Frances’ memory may be made to the Parkinson Society, Onslow Island Cemetery or charity of choice.
