Marion Maccallum
MACCALLUM, Marion Ellen Marion Ellen MacCallum, 94, Truro, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born in Earltown, she was a daughter of the late George and Julia (Gillian) Taylor. Marion was a school teacher in Colchester County for five years until she married Arthur. She was a member of First United Church, Truro and Unit H of UCW and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Truro, Ladies Auxiliary for over 30 years. Marion was a dedicated mother who cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughters, Dale MacLean (Jack), Arlene Tufts (Stephen) both of Truro; son, Ian MacCallum (Shauna), Truro; grandchildren, Dr. Glenda MacLean (Ken Derbis), Calgary, Susanne MacLean (Dr. Andrew Hayward), New Glasgow, Craig MacCallum (Tanya), Porter’s Lake, Lauren MacCallum (Arthur Rocha), Toronto; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Burton MacCallum; half-brother, Lee (Doris) MacDonald. No visitation by request. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiated with a reception in the funeral home, Burial followed in Earltown Village Cemetery, Earltown. Donations in memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 26 Truro Poppy Fund or to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation Fund.
