Redmond, Kathaleen Marion, 80, of Truro, passed away suddenly Friday, August 24, 2018 in Saint John, NB. Born in Wentworth, she was a daughter of the late Hollie and Dorothy (Swallow) Langille. Kathaleen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she dearly cherished. She enjoyed the luncheons and parties with the girls and going to the casino and also playing bingo. Kathaleen has now gone to be with her soul mate Kaye, who predeceased her in 2012. She is survived by daughters, Tina (Doug) Leger, Truro, Dawn (John) Gamlin, Edmonton; son, Wade Redmond, Truro; brother, Lloyd (Shirley) Langille, Truro; brother-in-law, Bud (Myrna) MacDonald, Truro; grandchildren, Aaron and Justin Leger, Josh (Krysta) McNutt, Emily and Kathaleen Redmond; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Garfield Kaye Redmond; sister, Joan MacDonald, and a sister and brother in infancy; brother, Jerold Langille; sisters-in-law, Eva and Peggy. Visitation will be held 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018, and funeral service 2 pm Friday, August 31, 2018, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating, with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will then be held in the Wentworth United Church Cemetery, in Wentworth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathaleen’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or to the Hope Chest Cancer Support Group.
