John Edwin Carter

Carter, John Edwin, 79, Debert, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Debert, he was a son of the late Edwin and Corena (Staples) Carter. He is survived by sons, Jeffrey (Deann) of Berwick, Jason (Jackie) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Avery; sister, Gracie (BJ) Tan of Debert; brothers, Phylip (Gail) of Bedford, Brent (June) of New Market, NB, Ben (Charlotte) of Windsor Junction; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Stephen. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Visitation will take place Tuesday from 7-9, and funeral service Wednesday, June 19th at 2 pm, all in the Debert Baptist Church, Debert. Reverend Paul Worden will officiate with burial to follow in Main Road Cemetery, Debert. A reception in the church hall will follow the burial. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Baptist Ministries (Designated Carter Family Support) or to a charity of choice.
