Frank Vernon Mcneil

McNeil, Frank Vernon, 73, of Crowes Mills, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 27, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 19, 1944, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Margaret (Pritchett) McNeil. Frank leaves to mourn his wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Roode) McNeil; son, Eric (Tina) McNeil; grandchildren, Logan and Mason, McNeil; brother, Michael (Carolyn) McNeil; sisters, Susan (Ralph) Gosby, Sandra (Barry) Mellish, all of Truro; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Joe; sisters, Marilyn Henderson, Mary Jane McNeil (Mullins); Frank was employed for 36 years with Canada Bread and later with the Department of Natural Resources in Bible Hill. He was a hard working humble human being, who loved his family dearly. Frank was most comfortable when enjoying nature. He was an avid hunter and sportsman who loved all of God’s creations. Frank’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Bruce Philips, Dr. Henderson and Angela McDonell, for their excellent care and compassion given to Frank and all of us. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, January 31, from 6 to 8 pm. Celebration of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 1, at 11am, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince Street Truro, with Father Joseph Thomas officiating, and Father Cristinel Fartadi as Co-celebrant. A reception will follow in Campbell Hall. Family flowers only. Donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
