CAMERON Douglas Levaine TRURO– Doug passed away on July 22, 2019 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, at the age of 81. He was born in Apple River to parents J.W. Cameron and Hilda (Orr) Cameron. Doug suffered from seizures as a young child, resulting in his inability to speak. This didn’t hamper Doug from letting his wishes be known by whistling and pointing. He was strong and adamant in what he wanted, especially if there were date squares or cheesies involved. Doug experienced the special attention and love that only a mother could provide. In his later years, he was fortunate to receive excellent care from the staff of Maplewood Manor, Tatamagouche and since 2013, from the staff of Purdy Lane in Cedarstone, Truro. Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by brothers, Allison and Leland. He is survived by siblings, Larry (Ardith), Bible Hill; Curtis (Margie), Truro; Doreen (Bruce) Woodworth, Wolfville; Carson (Donna MacKinnon), Warwick Mountain; and Bob (Wendy), Tatamagouche; sisters-in-law, Nance Cameron, Trenton, Ont.; and Dawn Cameron, Abbotsford, B.C.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A private family interment will be held in The Falls Cemetery, The Falls, N.S. www.arimatheafuneral.ca
