Doris E. Whidden

Whidden, Doris E. – Age 90, of Truro passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Colchester East Hants Health Center, Truro. Born in Advocate Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jessie (Barnes) Fillmore. She was a graduate of the Grace Maternity School of Nursing in 1951 and nursed at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro for 25 years. She is survived by daughters, Janet Andrews, Thornhill, Ont.; Patricia Ann Whidden, Lower Sackville; grandsons, Jeffrey Taylor, Hamilton, Ont.; Jonathan Taylor, Halifax; a great grandson, Dax Taylor, New Glasgow; former son-in-law, Mario Glavac; nephews, Arden Fillmore (Dianne), Elmsdale; William Fillmore (Monette), Moncton. She was predeceased by brothers, Kenneth and Douglas; sister in law, Marion Fillmore; a nephew, Wayne. Funeral service was held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Smiths Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating. Burial followed in the Advocate Cemetery.
