Doreen R Gorman

GORMAN, Doreen R. Doreen Rose Gorman (McIntyre), 77, Bay Roberts NL, formerly of Brule Point NS, passed away peacefully following a brief battle with cancer. Along with her intelligence, sense of humour, and quick wit, Doreen was well known for her love of animals, especially goats. She spent many summers traveling to goat shows across the Maritimes and was former president of the Canadian Goat Society. After decades of caring for others as a registered nurse, Doreen retired to her beloved Brule Point. She remained very active in the community as a volunteer with numerous nonprofit groups including the Brule Community Centre and the Lillian Fraser Hospital Auxiliary. Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Catherine McIntyre and infant brother, Allen. She leaves behind her loving husband, Leonard Butcher; sister, Penny MacLean; son, Allen Gorman; daughter, Jennifer Gorman; stepsons, Michael Butcher & Steven Butcher; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. No service as per Doreen’s wishes. Donations can be made to the Colchester branch of the SPCA or other animal charity of choice.
