Darrell Allan Sibley

Sibley, Darrell Allan, age 55, loving son and brother, passed away suddenly at home in Englewood, Florida on May 7, 2019. He was born June 5, 1963 in Woodstock, NB, and grew up in Truro, NS. After graduation his sense of adventure led him to travel and work in many places across Canada. During those years, he developed a keen interest in chef style food preparation & presentation. He then returned to Halifax, Nova Scotia, eventually partnering with his brother Dana to open his own restaurant (“My Other Brother Darrell’s”, known today as "Darrell's Restaurant"). After the sale of the business, he managed the family’s Blueberry Farm operations during the summer, allowing him the freedom to winter in Florida as a supportive companion for our Mother Alvira, and to spend time with his best friends Vicki and Keith. Darrell was bigger than life in so many ways. His intelligence and abilities were admired by all who knew him. His heart, though it stopped suddenly, was full of the utmost love and compassion. He loved his parents John D. Sibley (Linda), Alvira G. Sibley (Warner), and his siblings Kevin (Lynn), Dana (Cheryl), Krista (John Blaauwendraat), and Darren (Amanda). “Uncle Darrell” was adored by his many nieces and nephews. His unexpected passing at such a young age has left a huge emptiness in our hearts. With his living request, there will be no funeral service. Condolences can be sent to [email protected]
