Arlene Marie Madore

Age 70 years, Truro, Nova Scotia. Arlene's family is saddened to announce that she died on March 16, 2019 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Arlene suffered ill health during her last several years. Born in Pictou, September 10, 1948, Arlene was lovingly raised by her maternal grandmother, Hilda Madore. Spending her early years in Pictou, Arlene lived for a time in Sydney, Nova Scotia with Hilda, before returning to Pictou. She made Truro her home in 1972 and worked most of her adult life in the Dietary Services Department, at Colchester Regional Hospital. Ironically, she preferred not to cook at home and enjoyed dining out. Arlene enjoyed spontaneous car trips, going to the movies, and her independence and privacy. She will always be remembered by her family and friends, for her laughter, quick wit, kindness and generosity. She is survived by her mother, Viola (Madore) Langille, Pictou; sisters, Tanya Langille, Calgary, AB; Trudi (Brian) Rodger, Glen Haven, NS; Karla (Cecil) McAloney, Bridgewater, NS; Korinne (Allan) Elliott, Scotsburn, NS; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. Arlene was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Hilda (MacCormack) Madore; and brother, Kerry Langille. Cremation has been entrusted to McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. The family wishes to thank the Victorian Order of Nurses and Palliative Care Society for supporting Arlene during her illness. No flowers or funeral at Arlene's request. Interment later this spring.
