Anne Claire Murray
Age 88, Truro, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, January 5, 2019, at Vimy Court, Bible Hill. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Viola (Lawless) Lockhart. Anne was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, Truro, and she worked at Lewis Hat & Cap Factory, Speedy Propane and then owned and operated Lyman Street Grocery. Anne is survived by her children, Susan (Aubrey) Ryan, Belinda (Blaine) Geddes, Truro; Gregory (Cathy), Hart Lake; Joanne Newell, Toronto; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Joan Campbell, California; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alonzo Lester “Lonnie” Murray; sister, Betty Jean Harb. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Anne’s family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019, and funeral service 2 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019, Reverend Dr. David Sutherland officiating. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s memory to St. James Presbyterian Church, Colchester SPCA or Truro Homeless Outreach Society (THOS) are welcomed.
