Angela Harriet Smith

Angela Harriet Smith
Angela Harriet Smith – 51, Truro, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Angela was born in Bowmanville, Ont., but moved to Shubenacadie, N.S. at a young age when her parents bought a dairy farm. After graduating from Colchester Christian Academy, she moved to Hartland, N.B. to attend the New Brunswick Bible Institute. It was there that she met her husband Scott. They were married in 1988, and moved to Scarborough, Ont., where their first two children were born. It was there that she began looking after other children in order to be able to stay home with her own kids. In 1994, they moved back to Truro, where their next two daughters were born. She continued to provide childcare for dozens of children for over 20 years. Angela loved spending time outside, either sipping coffee on the deck, working in her garden or playing with her grandkids, Micah and Brody. She loved flowers and could never pick a favourite because she said they were all so beautiful. She loved the summer and couldn’t wait for the days to get longer. Angela had a heart for others. She was always making cinnamon rolls for new neighbours, or there to give advice to someone - whether they wanted it or not! She was not afraid to give her opinion, but did so in a way that you didn’t mind. She was a hard worker, and didn’t like to sit down for long. She was smart, and witty, and got mad if you slept in too late! Most importantly, she would want you all to know, she had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and believed that Jesus died on the cross for her sins. Her deepest wish was for you all to know this too, and accept Him for yourself. Because of this, she wasn’t afraid to die! She is currently enjoying her new healthy body in heaven. She leaves behind her loving husband, Scott, Truro; daughters, Kaitlyn (Marcus) MacKenzie, Valley, Alyssa and Jessica, both of Truro; son, Brandon, Brookfield; grandchildren, Micah and Brody MacKenzie; parents, Koenraad and Minnie Mostert, Shubenacadie; brothers, Jerry (Trish) Mostert, Pensacola, FL. Derek (Lori) Mostert, Shubenacadie. Angela’s family will receive visitors on Thursday, June 21 from 7-9pm with Funeral Service on Friday, June 22 at 3:30pm both in The Peoples Church, 15 Elm St., Truro with Pastor Ken Fillmore officiating. Interment to follow in Gays River Cemetery. Reception following the interment at the home of Koenraad and Minnie, 1623 Hwy. 224 Shubenacadie East (past Wildlife Park/Flashing Light and Turn Left) Family flowers only.
