Alice Stevens

STEVENS, Alice – 79, Brookfield, passed away peacefully, with loving family at her side, on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Church Point, Digby County, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Sylvia (Doucette) Stuart. In her earlier years, she loved being outdoors, going to the camp on the woodlot, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. She was a devoted wife and mother and is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Cecil Stevens; children, Brian Stevens, Brookfield; Tina Blair, Brookfield; Sylvia (Gilman) Robicheau, Saulnierville; granddaughters, Samantha Stevens, Erika Stevens, Kristen Blair; brothers, Alfred Stuart, Church Point; Roland Stuart, Comeauville; Norman Stuart, Boston, Massachusetts. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Alvin Stevens; sisters, Elizabeth, Doris; brothers, Wilfred, Jean, Bernard. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Cortney Smith and the entire Palliative Care Team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre for your exceptional care and concern for Alice and her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where a family funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2018. Reception will follow. Spring interment will be held in Brookfield Westside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
