Police have arrested a 33-year-old woman for making bomb threats to a business in Stewiacke.
The threats were made to the same business on Nov. 25, Dec. 25, and Dec. 27 and police say they indicated that harm to both the business and personnel could occur.
As a result, Colchester County District RCMP responded and other emergency services including fire and EHS were also deployed to the scene. The business was evacuated until searches were completed by police explosive and K-9 units. Local traffic and businesses in the area were disrupted.
On December 27, the RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Stewiacke. The female suspect was arrested at the residence without incident and is facing three charges each of mischief and uttering threats.
The woman was released and is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on March 20, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
