TRURO, N.S. — TRURO, N.S. – The VP Challenge was held in Truro Saturday, as participants tested themselves against the hills of picturesque Victoria Park, then scrambled through a mud obstacle on their bellies, while being drenched beneath a fire hose.

In the men’s 10K event, Joel Taylor of Truro was first across the line in a time of 54:39. Second was Tim Boutilier of Truro Heights whose time was 55:36.

For the women’s 10K, Rosanna Knight of Halifax was first with a time of 1:17:42 and close behind in second was Dawn Tree of Truro with a time of 1:17:47.

For the men’s 5K, Drew MacKinnon of Yellowknife was first in a time of 26:28. Second was David McCurdy of Truro who crossed in a time of 27:33.

In the women’s 5K, Ceilidh McKenney of Truro was first in a time of 28:26, followed by Sally MacKinnon of Yellowknife in 32:00.
