TRURO, N.S. – Thane Dunn and his Cadillac Kings are returning to Truro with a new show that caters, not only to Elvis Presley fans, but to country music fans, as well.
The International World Champion will present his show Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Cobequid Educational Centre auditorium.
“Things have been very busy since our last show in Truro,” Dunn said. “We’ve been performing with Bill Baize of Elvis’s original Stamps Quartet and he is actually my vocal coach. We just came back from Pensacola, Florida and are now playing all across North America. This may be our last show in Truro for some time.”
Dunn's new Elvis Rock and Country show features not only Elvis's iconic rock songs, from Blue Suede Shoes to Suspicious Minds, but since Elvis’s brought a certain style to his country songs, he will be adding several of Presley's country hits like Always on My Mind, Kentucky Rain and many more.
This show will feature a special opening act, as Dunn introduces The Rhinestone Cowgirl – Melly Dunn – with her salute to the Queens of Country Music: Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline. Melly has amazing vocal range and the looks of a movie star with incredible replicated costumes. She has wowed audiences from Nashville to Memphis.
Thane has been called the full Elvis package, delivering not only the look, voice, moves, and mannerisms, but he also has the magnetic personality and off-the-wall boyish charm exuded by Presley that makes you a believer. His show is endorsed by several people who actually worked and performed with Presley.
“We are doing this show because not only do I love Elvis but I’ve always loved Classic Country, that sadly, rarely gets radio play anymore,” Thane said. “People want to hear it. All our previous shows have been a hit, but I expect this one is going to take the roof off. I love the amazing people of Colchester Country who come out and support us. This has been called our best show yet and I can’t wait. I’m proud to say that tickets to our shows have become Christmas gifts in many homes in the region.”
